Crunch time at the top

With only a handful of matches left and with the defending champions sliding ominously towards the drop zone, this years Kenya Premier League looks like its headed to yet another climactic finish. Having just managed to force a point at home against Kenya Commercial Bank, Sony Sugar finally managed to take a ome point lead at the summit of the table ahead of the season pacesetters, Mathare United, who did not play over the weekend. Mathare United will thus play their away match against Western Stima on Wednesday

Several matches over the weekend were postponed due to legendarily nightmarish delays that saw many of the leagues representatives in the national team get back home just 24 hrs ahead of their club matches. These mainly affected Tusker FC, Mathare United, Western Stima, and Ulinzi Stars.

Where football could be played Gor Mahia took further steps in protecting their top flight status with a 1-0 win over Mahakama and there were wins for Thika United, Agro-Chemicals, and Red Berets.
